The title refers to the produce label on the Lime, it actually said Happy! Great lighting, shiny images and reflections are what usually motivate me to create a set up for a still life. My backlit series has been very popular. So I was looking for more subjects to capture when this juicy guy met my cutting board. My husband had to wait until after the photo shoot for a piece! Colored pencil on hardboard, varnished and framed $1155. This piece can be your by contacting:
This Still Life was the last set up at our big family home on the front porch. It was a fair farewell to the home where we enjoyed raising our boys and welcomed grandchildren. It showcases many generations; my mother's circa 1940's red umbrella, My Welly boots, and my grandchildren's alligator Welly boots, with our colonial welcome pineapple ornament at our Blue door. Just looking at this painting makes me remember all the wonderful times had at this home. From Spring Easter Egg hunts to splashing in mud puddles! ;))
The red patent leather shoes in the piece were my daughter in law's, kicked off after a night out. The perfume bottles were a collection of new and antique ones in my stash and pearls were mine. Laid out to collect the reflections this painting had a life meant for someone's dressing room. Colored Pencil on hardboard, varnished and framed. $755
I just love a tea party don't you? This fun little stack up of a grandmother's teapot and family collection of cups represents many a party I have with my granddaughters. My grandmothers creamer in indigo blue glass brings back memories for me. And the girls love the sugar cubes, after all nothings more fun than letting them dissolve in warm tea. Colored pencil on hardboard, varnished and framed $985.
An art trip to the Castello di Colognole in Greve, Italy for a plein air painting trip inspired the set up for this piece. I purchased red currants at the local market day and used some of the china in our flat. Set up on the granite window sill with the tuscan landscape rolling away was just what I wanted. This is colored pencil on watercolor paper, matted and framed. $985 It and can be yours by clicking the link to contact me to buy direct.
Don't you just love red ripe pomegranates? Placed with my grandmother's cut glass vase along with a few orange branches. Drawing the juicy seed bits was so much fun. $985 Colored pencil on Ampersand board varnished and framed in an expresso and gold wide plein air frame. This painting can be yours by clicking the image and contacting me to purchase.
